Going down to the wire.
In a crucial Eastern Conference matchup on October 2nd, Atlanta United was edged out by CF Montréal with a 2-1 home defeat at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, further muddying the waters in their playoff position.
The Canadian side was brought to life by none other than former Five-Stripe Josef Martinez, with the striker scoring both goals in clinical fashion. A second Atlanta consolation goal was brought back by Daniel Rios, however the scoreline ended to the visitors.
