Early year international friendlies are always a good opportunity to get a few fresh call-ups under the belt, and that’s exactly what Berhalter did for this window. Several new players got either their first, or one of few USMNT call-ups and an opportunity to impress coach for future looks. This match saw 7 first time caps in the starting lineup, a record for the modern day era. By the end 11 players earned their first cap on Saturday.
