Hey girl, I just wanted to start off by saying how proud I am of you. Who knew the magnitude of this journey that you would be on. You have been so blessed through all of your years and I know there is so much more in store for you. You knew what it was when you started having the ball at your feet at just 4 years old. Thankful for my parents for pushing me to be who I am today, and I would like to say thank you to them for never giving up on me.

As you traversed from high school into Adulthood (college life), we had some bumpy roads, you stayed course and never lost sight of what GOD had planned for you. I know it wasn’t easy, the path that you’d set forth for yourself, but you prevailed. You are so strong, so courageous, so BRIGHT. I think you have shown that you can do whatever it is you put your mind to.

Never let anyone else take your joy and your sunlight because it makes you who you are destined to be. Keep staying the course, Messiah. Keep shining on the pitch and shedding your light and your passion of the game onto others. You are so brilliant, smart, and destined for greatness but ONLY YOU have to maintain that belief, no one else can.

You know how it feels to be looked upon, you know how it feels to have backs turned on you, but you continue to shine Bight like a diamond that will be hard to crack under pressure.

I love you little black girl, you did it. Now it’s time to show the world what a small-town kid from Dallas is all about. Love you kid, and let the journey continue.
