It’s all about the music with Austin FC and the story around its newest kit. On Thursday, the club unveiled the Armadillo Kit, their new secondary jersey for the 2024 and 2025 seasons that honors one of Austin’s most well-known and lively cultural exports: live music.
Austin FC collaborated with the original owners of Armadillo World Headquarters to hold a unique jersey launch party at ACL Live on February 15, during which the jersey was physically presented for the first time. Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel, along with country performer William Beckman, local Austin hip-hop artists Kydd Jones and Blackchyl, and DJs King Louie and Orya, all played.
The event honored AWHQ in several ways, including music, decor, food, and beverages. Guests could enjoy some of AWHQ’s signature cuisine items.
