The big one. As the stage was set for a classic showdown between Concacaf sides US and Mexico, the assumption is that it would be business as usual for the USWNT. To the shock of everyone on the pitch as well as the world, Mexico came good with a 2-0 win over the favored side.
The shock result, capped off by a wonderstrike from Mayra Pelayo-Bernal, is just the second time Mexico has beaten the US in 43 fixtures, with its only previous victory coming back in 2010. Our photographer Rich Gordon was there for the monumentous match.
